Experience

Ricky Ashenfelter contributes to client projects focused on corporate emissions inventories, product life cycle carbon footprints, supply chain analyses, and emissions reduction strategies. He has served in a number of research roles focused on the supply chains of various food and consumer products, and has contributed to the development of financial modeling tools to evaluate emissions reduction projects for numerous FT500 companies. Ricky has led ClearCarbon’s corporate benchmarking analysis initiatives using resources such as the Carbon Disclosure Project, EPA Climate Leaders, and other resources. He has also contributed significantly to the development of new service offerings designed to assist clients with minimizing risk and maximizing opportunities in response to government action on climate change.

Ricky joined ClearCarbon in July 2009 after graduating from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, where he focused his undergraduate studies on the overlap between business and sustainability, and spent much of his time researching the financial, political, and scientific implications of climate change and renewable energy. During school, Ricky interned at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency within their Climate Protection Partnerships Division. There, he worked closely with the Climate Leaders program to highlight their partners’ corporate emission reduction initiatives, and was responsible for researching federal and private-sector investments involving solar power, the military, and various government departments.

Ricky also brings with him approximately three years of experience in the financial services industry and a certificate from the Sustainable Energy Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
