Experience

Rich Baltimore has several years of engineering, project management, and business administration experience, and a background in sustainable economic development. He has experience formulating and undertaking financial modeling and analysis for projects, from carbon reductions to renewable energy investment opportunities. Rich’s research and consulting experience spans the renewable energy sector, including carbon offset project development, carbon footprinting and analysis, transportation emissions quantification, carbon reduction strategy development, goal setting analysis, and risk management for potentially regulated companies and facilities.

Rich has also designed and built sophisticated yet user-friendly custom applications for clients for wide-ranging purposes, from freight shipping footprinting and comparison to corporate GHG reduction scenario analysis. Recently, he has managed projects for clients such as BNSF Railway, Autodesk, US Foodservice, the Environmental Defense Fund, and Medtronic, as well as other prominent clients in the food and chemical industries. He has also contributed significantly to carbon management projects for Dean Foods, News Corporation, WhiteWave Foods, and Wal-Mart, among many others.

Before joining ClearCarbon, Rich received his MBA from the University of Virginia and worked for the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). Prior to earning his MBA, Rich worked as an engineer and project manager for six years, where he successfully managed or co-managed more than $150 million in complex civil and commercial construction projects in the sports, education and healthcare arenas.

An interesting fact about Rich

After a stunning upset in the Collegiate Regional Boxing Tournament in March of 2000 to Comanche Garcia, whom he had defeated twice before, Rich hung up his boxing gloves. He now enjoys almost all outdoor activities as well as playing and collecting guitars and guitar equipment. Rumor of his return to the ring has persisted, but he remains quiet on the subject.
